The Secrets of Mars
Ironic really, that the week before Martian the new Matt Damon film was released, NASA confirm there is water on Mars. Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed the frequency of ‘information’ releases about extraterrestrial life has increased significantly over the last 5 -10 years? I guaranty, give it 20 years and we will be told there is life out there. Quite frankly, I’m gobsmacked NASA didn’t release the fact there are microbes in the water on Mars as it is.

It’s at 14K and 8 chapters in, although I suspect by the time this goes live, it will be 9 or 10 chapters in. Below is an excerpt from the end of chapter 8. I have tried to tweak it to fit Ali’s challenge of ‘purple prose’ she did say no dialogue….I cheated, but then I never was one to follow the rules! (more…)
The Zen of Finding Lost Words
I’ve spoken before about my habit of collecting words and sentences: Read Like A Writer – Collect Words. Collect Sentences. But I thought I would share the significance this has for me as a writer, especially this week. The benefit of collecting words, and more importantly, some of the words I have collected has unblocked my block! (more…)

The BASH is BACK! The Second Annual #BloggersBash 2016
After the stonking success of the first Bloggers Bash, the committee crawled under their respective duvets and hid having exhausted their supplies of extroversion.
HOWEVER, we have recovered, reconvened… discussed, deliberated…. and guess what…. we’re going to do it all over again! THE BASH IS BACK PEOPLE. The bash is really back. (more…)
